Advent Giving Tree

Brandon went up to church yesterday morning and volunteered helping put up the Advent Giving Trees. This is the first week of Advent. The trees are decorated with ornaments in which each one represents a need of a charitable organization in NWO. The way it works is you take an ornament off the tree and fulfill the need. For example, I have an ornament which is for baby clothes for Heartbeat of Toledo, an organization that helps young women who have unplanned pregnancies. During Advent, we are asked to remember those in need. I really enjoy participating in the Advent Giving Tree project.

Shopping in Grand Rapids

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, we always go for lunch and shopping in Grand Rapids. Though Rick usually can't make it on Thanksgiving day, he makes it to this. So the first picture here is Linda and Rick. Linda is so photogenic!!! Then next we have Aunt Jan and Uncle Ken. Were you ever able to give your potato chips away? Cindy, Craig, and Lydia posed in front of the fire place for us. Lastly, we have Bob getting scolded for yet again stealing the bill from his mom. He is so bad!

Rascal

This is Edie's dog, Rascal. Apparently, he is waiting for food to be placed on the table!

Thanksgiving Dinner

These are pictures from Thanksgiving dinner! As usual, dinner was wonderful! Edie and Jan have kept a journal on the Thanksgiving meal since before I came along. They are always trying to improve. But everything is always good! As you can see, Linda got to talk to her hubby who couldn't make it. Notice all the dogs' noses at the table! They usually have a pretty good Thanksgiving dinner too!!

The Boys

I don't think I have posted a picture lately of the boys so here is one. This is from Grandma Edie's backyard on Thanksgiving Day.

Youth Gun Hunt Weekend in Ohio

It's Youth Gun Hunt weekend in Ohio. Luc was out hunting all day....with no luck. Last year, he got a "button buck". The meat was great! He is going back out again tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

Oh, those pranksters at work!

Some of our OSU fans got pranked today!! They sure weren't expecting it! Next year may be an all-out war at my work! I wonder who those pranksters were.......

OSU - MI Football

We had our OSU - MI Football Rivalry Party at work today! We had pizza brought in, salad, and desserts! Everyone (almost everyone) wore their favorite teams' colors and had a good time!

Veterans Day

Thank you Veterans! A special thank you to my brother Patrick Knapp!
Veterans Day, honors ALL American veterans, both living and dead. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for dedicated and loyal service to their country. November 11 of each year is the day that we ensure veterans know that we deeply appreciate the sacrifices they have made in the lives to keep our country free.

Detroit Pistons

We went to the Pistons game last night versus the Orlando Magic. It was a very good game...neck and neck the whole time. But in the end....the Pistons won! We had pretty good seats too. We had fun. It was a good night for us...but a late night as well. I may be struggling at work today. Bring on the coffee!

Halloween

We all, including Francine, went over to the Viers' for Halloween to pass out treats to the trick-or-treaters and have dinner. It was a little dissappointing as there weren't very many trick-or-treaters. But we had fun. Francine had fun with the Viers' dogs, Maxine and Irma, who you can see here in the pictures. Dinner was great. Mel and Denny did a great job with the chicken! And we had lots of cheesy potatoes (Sorry, Denny)!
