Senior Pictures

Brandon had an appointment tonight with B & D Photography for his Senior Pictures. They went to 4 or 5 locations in Downtown Wauseon. The pictures, the settings, the locations were super cool! I can't wait to see the proofs!

Here is Francine in her Halloween sweater! (Thank you, Scrappy) She hates it, of course. But she'll have to wear it when she goes over to the Viers' on Saturday to help pass out candy with Maxine and Irma!

Ohio State Buckeyes

Brandon and I went to see Ohio State play today! We had fun. We went early and walked around campus and High Street. Our seats were just okay, but then we really appreciated them when the weather turned. It got real windy and rained a little. We were sheltered from both. The game started out kind of slow and some errors were made but after the first half things really went well for the Buckeyes. They beat Minnesota 38 - 7! Brandon really enjoyed it.

Go Bucks!

Looking forward to the Ohio State Football game on Saturday! Brandon and I are going! Keep your fingers crossed that they do better than last week :(
Brandon has visited the campus once looking at colleges. OSU is one of the colleges he has applied to.
Start placing your bets now as to how many times I get lost. Yes, we are leaving early Saturday morning :)

Walking Buddy

My favorite season is Fall! And I especially love a beautiful fall day like today. My friend Val and I try to take walks whenever we can. We walk at Oak Openings, the Delta Resevior, and Secor Park. Today after work we were able to walk at Secor Park. We are going to walk again tomorrow. Its supposed to be another nice day.

Blast from the Past!!

For those of you that have known me long, know that Bob and I spent a summer, before kids, traveling the United States on a motorcycle. It was quite the adventure. We went all around the United States, and visited people we knew along the way. I was actually pregnant with Brandon in this picture. This picture was taken by Cousin Wendy when we visited her in Wyoming.

Breakfast at Work

Every now and then we have a cookout at work...usually for lunch. But we decided to do something different Friday....Breakfast. I wasn't sure how people would like it but I think it turned out great. We had breakfast casseroles, muffins, breads, juice, quiche, bagels, a yogurt & granola parfait, and we even had a pancake station where you could have a blueberry, butterscotch, or chocolate chip pancake made. It turned out great. Pretty soon we'll do something for the OSU-MI game, then it'll be time to have a Holiday Pig-Out. Here you can see some pictures from our company breakfast that we had yesterday.

What my babies' names mean…

Well, they aren’t babies anymore (so sad).

My sister, Mandy tagged me on this subject, so here goes.

With both my pregnancies I did not find out the sex ahead of time. Both were a surprise. I really liked it that way.

With Brandon, I was in the hospital for 5 days after I had him. People got upset with me because a name was not picked out right away. We waited til the very last minute. It was “baby boy Scott” for quite a while. We couldn’t agree was the problem. So finally we sat in the hospital room going through the baby name book. We decided that the first name that we both thought was acceptable we’d go with. Went the the A’s….couldn’t agree…..Went through the B’s….got to Brandon and we both thought we could live with that and there you have it.

After having Luc, my sister Lori suggested “Luke”. We did like it…though we decided to actually go with “Lucas” (Luc, for short). We realized later two things: First, we are a family of 4 in which two of us have names beginning with B (Bob is really Robert, but no one calls him that), and two of us have names beginning with L. Second, Brandon and Bob’s initials can be shortened to “BS”, which Bob loves to use at work.
Here is what I found on the internet regarding the name, Brandon:

Derived from a surname and place name based on the Old English for 'hill covered with broom'. Broom is a prolific weed. Also, 'From the beacon hill'.

Here is what I found on the internet regarding the name, Lucas:

The Irish name Lucas means - "light."

All three boys have a middle name beginning with E. Edward is Bob’s, Emerson is Brandon’s, and Emmett is Luc’s.
And now I'm going to have to double-tag Kim, because I really don't have anyone else to tag. Sorry Kim!

Julie Pawlicki

January 5, 1970 - September 29, 2009

She never failed to do her best
Her heart was true and tender;
She toiled hard for those she loved,
And left them to remember.
A loving mother, kind and true,
Her equals on this earth are few;
A happy life, a peaceful end,
She died as she lived, everybody's friend.
If we had this world to give,
We would give it and more;
To see our darling mother,
Come smiling through the door.
Those who have a mother,
Should tend her with care;
For you never know her value
Till you see her vacant chair.

Rest in Peace, Julie
